Is poe a trade-focused game?

Poe's efforts in game updates don't seem to be fully effective, at least for some players, Grinding Gear Games more focus on the economy than players’ experience in the new league. I personally agree with this point of view, so what makes the player feel this impression?



They've long balanced the game based on metrics instead of on what fun for the average player.

Some around here will say "its a trade-focused game so don't ask for it to be balanced based on individual experience" but I've got to challenge the necessity for that to remain the case.

We need more breach and less Talisman.

Now I'm not talking about Diablo 3 drop rates, I am only talking about making some of the nested RNG, "win a lottery ticket for a chance to win a lottery ticket that may be a winner and give you loot, that may or may not have good rolls" systems be toned down a layer or two.

Breach stones = good

Lich's in the first 2 months of Abyss = bad

Lich's in the last month of Abyss = good

Talisman = RERALLYFUCKINGBAD

Harbinger = Okayish kinda if you were lucky with the poe orbs, I wasn't.

Spirit Beasts = bad, maybe REALLYFUCKINGBAD it's hard to tell this early

No one wants POE to become a stupid T1 loot pinata, but some more attention given to the actual player experience and less weight given to pure metrics would be nice.

RNG that gives a sense of progression is good - stuff like splinters, fragments, etc.. RNG that's hit or miss is bad - you either win everything or you lose everything.

How Will Economy Influence Our Experience in PoE

Used to do support this league, and that I did try to obtain a refund since I wasn’t pleased with the necro-internet changes, which honestly might have been an over-reaction, I could not have it “since I bought the support pack through steam” That is a load of shit honestly, its GGG’s choice to support refunding through steam for in-game purchases per Steam support, and GGG chooses to not support it. Why are they going to, this means spending cash to enable them to generate losses.

I have performed Farmville more any others but at this time I am really wishing for major changes or even more likely yet another arpg that’s readily available, less tiresome, runs better, etc. POE really seems like a game title in the past in a lot of ways, they keep adding increasingly more stuff however the same problems persist.


It is good that GGG has big ideas and it is ambitious using the game, however, they keep creating content that merely does not use the way the game really operates. I believe the lab was the very first major example, creating content that needs precision movement inside a game that does not run well, has mysterious hitboxes and crashes for a lot of players frequently they provided an enormous area of the game that just compounds the issues they already had
